Merry Belated Christmas
I've moved back home and there is no snow but a lot of rain. :( It hasn't quite sunk in that I won't be going back to school next week! I do miss my independent lifestyle (a.k.a. do whatever I want) under the watchful eye of my mother. It's still rather nice to be in one place for a while without having the troubles of moving. My sojourn is over...and I wish to start another soon. Fingers crossed.

Moments
There are moments you wish would just pass by.
Moments you wish would slow down and stop.
Moments you wish you could relive.
I'm at a bittersweet moment. Should I stay or should I go? I want time to slow down, but I want to finish what I started.
Come December...life will be different. Not sure I'm ready for that Moment.
I've been through that Moment, and I'll have to go through it again.
This time, it feels a lot more intimidating.
I'll know when the time comes.

I'm usually not this happy to study.
Enjoy this awesome cover in the meantime. I've listened to it at least a dozen times!

à l’aise
It's been quite a stressful summer. Thus, I'm glad to be finishing off summer in Vancouver. Everytime I'm back, I see the City in a different light. My experiences away from home always bring me back to the same conclusion - there's no place like Vancouver. I'm always appreciative of this City - be it rain or shine, the City is always green, and I will never tire of looking north at the Coast Mountains. On the plane from Toronto to Vancouver, I sat next to a guy from Brampton who goes to Uvic for mechanical engineering. He kept asking, "Why on earth would you leave Vancouver to go to Ontario?" I laughed it off and thought to myself, if I haven't left, I wouldn't appreciate Vancouver as much as I do now.
Although I have a ton of work and studying to do in my last few days in Vancouver, just being out and about brings an indescribable inner peace. Though my personal goals may not bring me back to Vancouver permanently, I am appreciative and fortunate to call this City home.
Pictures to come.

Tourist Rosa
I had a lovely time at Niagara Falls with my cousin and K. It's been at least 14 years since I last visited the Falls and I have very little recollection of what I did and saw there.
As a result of my trip, I was further tanned (too dark at this point), had sore feet, and ate too much (after Korean BBQ back in Toronto). Nature is really so overwhelming. It's such a shame that Niagara Falls has evolved past the nature component into a cliche tourist destination. It saddens me to see silly museums, casinos, and flashy signs right next to such a marvel of nature. I don't expect myself to return to Niagara Falls anytime soon. I do want to see Niagara-on-the-Lake and some of the more independent wineries in the region though.
The subtext of this post...I wish my roommate to be subject to the fury of the falls, among other things...

I need change
I haven't been feeling 100% lately. As much as I'm trying to enjoy summer in Toronto, I miss Vancouver and the lifestyle I once had. I just need to find a place where I can have that balance. There doesn't seem to be anything for me here anymore. I'm sick of the routine. I miss the milder temperatures. I miss home.

simple life
There is so much beauty in simplicity. Too often our lives are entangled in planning details and thinking about the future. Too often our lives are governed by logic and self-interest. I had the opportunity to reflect about the wonders of nature. The harmony of all this diversity is beyond incredible. The shape of a lion's snout, a simple yellow flower regarded as a "weed", the playful and nurturing character of a gorilla, a grassy field with a lone yet grand maple. I'm taken back to my days spent in Owen Sound. It was really a simple life. I was very much like the lone maple amidst a field of strangers. I was alone, inexperienced, and naive. I've been through a lot to get to where I am today, and I think that affords me the desire for simpler days.
After being in the City for a while now, I've been stuck with the mindset that the City, with all its conveniences and diverting aspects, is my preferred location. Now I think I've been prejudiced by the work I do. It's important to live and work by one's principles but I'm afraid I've been blinded by the flashing lights, glitz and glamour. Needless to say, working hard to attain one's goals is regarded as necessary by societal standards, and I believe in hard work and commitment. Although I feel quite certain of the path I wish to take, I can't help but wonder what could be. I'm at these crossroads again.
Strange how much a simple yellow flower or a lone maple tree can make me wonder. It was truly enriching to feel connected to nature again. A spark of hope has restored my confidence and feelings in myself.

random recaps
Le jazz
Jazz tunes wholly fill me up. I love all the different emotions coursing through my body when I'm in a jazz trance. From the slow ballad-like tunes to the upbeat Latin jazz or big band, I always feel so good afterwards. The music evokes certain words to my head, and I wonder if the composer thought of the same words. The pieces with lyrics exude real human experiences, usually love, be it forlorn or content.
Me
I've been feeling a little disconnected from myself. It took a lunch hour big band concert at Nathan Phillips to make me realize that. On my way home from work, I stopped by the stage again, and a great Latin jazz performance brought members of the crowd (mostly older) to their feet. Slightly swaying and toe-tapping, I felt like myself again.
Weekend
I felt restless all weekend (thanks to the G20). I couldn't read my book at my neighbourhood Starbucks (I wish it wasn't a chain). I wasn't able to roam freely around the city without seeing destruction, riot police, and the smell the vinegar. The events of this weekend made me very frustrated. I understand the right to peacefully protest and our freedom of speech in our democratic society. It is a privilege. The acts of vandalism is not a privilege, and it's unfortunate the perpetrators were not brought to justice. I'm just disappointed that the protests and all the arrests took up most of the media space.
Me again
My writing is a bit choppy today. I still haven't recovered from this writer's block. Working in an office really stifles one's creativity. The vocabulary I come across are often planning jargon - designation, provisions, compliance, flood plain, setbacks, permitted uses, etc. I feel as though I'm in this bubble, which is why the lunch hour and after work jazz sessions brought me back to life. Though I'm not writing as fluidly as I would like, I'm learning to write in bits and pieces, from one thought to the next. Maybe I'm expecting too much from myself. Sometimes, the words just have to flow naturally, and often with a caffeinated drink. I'm hoping for some breezy, sunny weather so I can bring myself to a bench under a tree at UT and read and collect my thoughts alone.

eventfully uneventful
I'm not even sure if the title of this post makes sense. I've been keeping myself busy, so life has been eventful in that sense. But even though I'm doing all these activities, life still feels uneventful. I feel like I'm not living comfortably, thanks to the old witch I live with. I've put up with her insanity quite well these last few weeks. It's nearly July and summer will pass, even though I don't want it to.
Living in Toronto the second time around is quite different than the fall term. This time, I know what to expect, and nothing is really shiny and new. I've been meeting some new people and doing some really fun things with them. For instance, Luminato was such a fantastic arts festival. Vancouver doesn't have any events that even parallels to the size and sophistication of Luminato. I also did yoga in the middle of Yonge and Dundas Square with my fellow R. It was really super fun.
My mind's really been quite blank lately. I've tried writing, but to no avail. Perhaps I should be reading more, and reflecting upon my experiences. I'll start chronicling my roommate experiences in the next few posts!

superfluous
I don't need to close my eyes to take myself to another world, my future, ideal world. The reality of that future is achievable, but from my current situation, I feel years and years away from it. It's partly this idealism which drives me. I'm wary of my actions because too often I build up extravagant concoctions about what will happen and those expectations aren't always achieved. I need to learn to take things one step at a time, and not try to take leaps and bounds. I just know I can't turn out like my 40 year old roommate.
That's all.
That's all.

I left my heart in San Francisco
The Bay Bridge
Road to Sonoma
Sunset beach...surfer boys
This trip really opened my eyes. I've stayed in one place for too long and I know I desire a change - a change of pace, a change of scenery, a change of culture, a change of environment. Although I was only in San Francisco for 4 days, I feel like I was able to explore so many places. The city itself was similar to Vancouver, but on a larger scale. If I move my life there, it will be closer to the lifestyle I miss in Vancouver, yet with the cultural and distinct urban environment that I'm looking for. I really hope the next chapter of my life will be in San Francisco.

étrange
A few weird days have gone by. I always seem to be going through something a few times a month. I'm exhausted from unhappiness, haunting memories, and not being treated the way I deserve to be treated. I've encountered people of all sorts, wonderful, exotic, old flames, and some just plain old...
It's like I'm stuck on a ladder between where I was and where I want to be. I take a few steps up and a few steps down, but I'm always on that ladder. I know I have to go through hurdles to get to where I want to be. Nothing is easy. I need that fighting spirit I once had back. I need the kindle to light my fire. The Nutella to my toast.
I've proved to myself in the past of my abilities. I can once again bring that part of myself out, with or without someone holding my hand.

wait for fate
Love You Madly
performed by Ella Fitzgerald
composed by Duke Ellington
Love you madly
right or wrong
sounds like a lyric of a song
But since it's so
I thought you oughta know
I love you, love you madly
Better fish are in the sea
Is not the theory for me
And that's for sure
Just like I said before
I love you, love you madly
If you could see the happy you and me
I dream about so proudly
You'd know the breath of spring
That makes me sing
My love song so loudly
Good things come to those who wait
So just relax and wait for fate
To let me see the day you'll say to me
I love you, love you madly
But since it's so
I thought you oughta know
I love you, madly
And that's for sure
Just like I said before
I love you, love you madly
If you could see the happy you and me
I dream about so proudly
You'd know the breath of spring
That makes me sing
My love song so loudly
To let me see the day you'll say to me
I love you madly

Oh, I got big eyes for you, baby

letters of love
IMMORTAL BELOVED
Though still in bed, my thoughts go out to you, my Immortal Beloved, now and then joyfully, then sadly, waiting to learn whether or not fate will hear us - I can live only wholly with you or not at all - Yes, I am resolved to wander so long away from you until I can fly to your arms and say that I am really at home with you, and can send my soul enwrapped in you into the land of spirits - Yes, unhappily it must be so - You will be the more contained since you know my fidelity to you. No one else can ever possess my heart - never - never - Oh God, why must one be parted from one whom one so loves. And yet my life in V is now a wretched life - Your love makes me at once the happiest and the unhappiest of men - At my age I need a steady, quiet life - can that be so in our connection? My angel, I have just been told that the mailcoach goes every day - therefore I must close at once so that you may receive the letter at once - Be calm, only by a calm consideration of our existence can we achieve our purpose to live together - Be calm - love me - today - yesterday - what tearful longings for you - you - you - my life - my all - farewell. Oh continue to love me - never misjudge the most faithful heart of your beloved.
ever thine
ever mine
ever ours
- Ludwig van Beethoven
Who would've thought someone named Ludwig and sometimes a bit mad could write such poetic love letters. I love the last three lines...
ever thine
ever mine
ever ours

Winter, I bid thee farewell
The thing about summer is that while it may be hot and lovely outside, inside, the blasting of air conditioning makes it hard to dress. It's like a Katy Perry song...it's hot and then it's cold. The sporadic summer thunderstorms in Ontario are also quite annoying. Vancouver summers are still the best I've ever known.
But weather aside, I have lots of plans for the summer that I'm so looking forward to. I'll be happy to be back at work and enjoying my spare time outdoors. Single and fabulous! (Ok I've been watching too many sex and the city episodes)

get ready to drool
This term has been extremely pasta-intensive. I tried quite a few types of pastas. I made the risotto style pasta that I read about in the New York Times. I never enjoyed cooking with spaghetti or linguine, I preferred the bite sized pastas. I'm a big fan of David Rocco, and he seems to use more of the noodle-y pastas in his recipes. I've always enjoyed watching his show so I decided that I was going to try to make some of his pasta dishes. "Drunken Spaghetti" intrigued me. So here it is:
It was....absolutely delicious. I made it again for D and it was a good meal to have after a long day of work. He'll miss my cooking.
Kale, zucchini, and chicken risotto. Yum.

"Crab" cakes - made it with red snapper, shrimp, and scallops!

Just a tomato sauce pasta dish. The pasta was like a hollow tube. I forgot to record the name of the pasta.

Fusilli pasta. Fresh out of the pot. You can see the steam!

Yummy avec chicken wings!

Thai Coconut Island in Cambridge....sooooooo good. My pad thai was a little too saucy for my liking. The star of the meal was the dessert. Deep fried bananas and coconut ice cream with actual coconut chunks with a honey and peanut drizzle. YUM.

I made risotto pasta with casarecce pasta, which is from the Napoli region in Italy. Lots of vino in this.

As an "end of term" dinner, John, Lyndon and I went out to Ali Baba's Steak House, now called Encore. I had the chicken of course. It was pretty tasty.

Spaghettini with scallops and arugula in a white wine sauce of course.
It's been really fun experimenting all these pastas. I think I'm ready to expand even more though. Summer is salad season. Maybe I'll create some interesting salads. At the moment, I have a red lentil soup on the stove. Lentils are really high in fibre and iron, and females are always in need of more iron.
Happy eating boys and girls.

rainy thoughts ☂
I grew up with rain, lots of rain. My relationship with rain however, has been in the gutters (pun intended) ever since I've moved to Ontario. I've left rain for snow and more sunshine. You know you're a Vancouverite when your winter attire consists of Columbia/GoreTex/MEC rain gear, and you go through at least three umbrellas every year.
Here in Southern Ontario, after a long weekend of beautiful weather, the rain has come to clean the air and the streets. As I walked towards Starbucks (where I sit now) a half hour ago, the after smell of freshness brought a calmness to me. I actually love being caught in the rain. The spontaneity of the summer/fall thunderstorms of Ontario, or the lack of preparedness on my part, leaves me soggy like cereal left in the milk too long. My thoughts upon the first fat raindrops on my head are negative. "Oh, how could I be so stupid and unlucky?!" As my soggy appearance materializes, I begin to accept my fate. I face the sky and open my mouth as if I were catching snowflakes. At this point, my mascara may be smudged, my hair stringy. I continue walking until I reach my destination, and continue on with my life.
In life, I get caught in the rain all the time. One can never really anticipate obstacles. I've learned to accept the rain, and walk on despite my appearance. You will eventually dry off, and start again.
Yes, these are my random ramblings on a Wednesday morning. I fill my head with these obvious metaphors from time to time. It's the only way to clear my head! I just need some self-vindication of how I feel and my decisions. I will enjoy the rain this week.

I hate it when I wake up in the morning feeling exactly as I did the night before. Waking up is supposed to be about starting anew. I have a tendency to think too much before I go to bed, and I have trouble falling asleep. I just want to switch off my brain sometimes, and not consider every single purpose, possibility, and probability.
Now, it's almost mid-afternoon, and I've stopped dwelling on those incessant thoughts of late nights/early mornings. I know what I have to focus on today, tomorrow, and the day after. I know I deserve better, and I'm certain things work out for the better. Sometimes I feel like I fit in with the tortured artist stereotype without the artistic abilities. I don't want to be sad or depressed. These emotions are complimentary to happiness. In order to be happy, one must also be sad.
Now, I shall focus on one thing: environmental clean-up liability. The paper will not write itself and I just have to sit through the day focusing on the Environmental Protection Act (hopefully I'll be an expert by the end of this), and review a few relevant cases.

moment of honesty (to myself)
I feel like I've had a tough day, but looking back, it doesn't seem like it was too tough. I suppose it's not what happened, but what I've been thinking about, and the pressure I've put upon my shoulders. I've tried to shrug it off, put it out of my mind, but instead, it's just built up a lot of tension. Sometimes I put on a face of confidence, but really, those words of reassurance cover up my insecurities. I try to be positive, but underneath it all, it's not genuine. I don't know what it'll take to really change my negativity into sincere positivity.
I know I just over thought things today. That on top of minor annoyances and the built up stress just resulted in me getting all emotional...
This song soothes me...

would've should've could've
I gotta move on and just anticipate better opportunities. It's not often I get this depressed but I will be mopey for a good week or so. I'm strong. I'm tough. I'm what a modern woman should be. I know I'll be kicking myself for a while for my stupidity, but I know that I will be okay eventually.
Thank goodness D was there to comfort me.

What? It's March?!
Time flies when you're having fun and slacking off. March is going to be quite a hectic month. I foresee many stressful days ahead of me (especially for my environmental law term paper). It's been a pretty lazy weekend here in Waterloo. I watched A Single Man with Yosef on Thursday and Alice in Wonderland last night. I really enjoyed both movies. Other than that, I applied to a couple of jobs and did some reading. I already have tonight's dinner planned out too.
I'm just really looking forward to summer right now. There are many loose ends to be tied up, plans to be made, packing up my life in boxes once again. I can't wait for warmth, tans, nice cold beer, and patio days. I'm hoping to be either back home or in Toronto again this summer. It's only fair that D and I have a chance to spend more time together.

Even though it's snowing...
I can see clearly now, the rain is gone,
I can see all obstacles in my way
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind
It's gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-Shiny day
It's gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-Shiny day
Oh yes I can make it now, the pain is gone
All of the bad feelings have disappeared
Here is the rainbow I've been prayin' for
It's gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-Shiny day
Look all around, there's nothin' but blue skies
Look straight ahead, nothin' but blue skies
I can see clearly now, the rain is gone,
I can see all obstacles in my way
Here is the rainbow I've been prayin' for
It's gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-Shiny day
It's gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)

Sometimes I think I define my happiness too much on my successes. After so many years, one would think that it'd get easier, but it doesn't. I'll just have to remember to keep my head up and wait for better opportunities. I have to accept my own strengths and weaknesses. I'm a strong believer of que sera, sera. I know that things eventually work out, it always has. Right now, I have things to focus on. I've never been one to go with the flow nor status quo. I just have to keep swimming. Thanks Dory. And thanks Johnny Nash or Bob Marley.

Seems like this term, I'm getting really good at procrastination. I have to finish my law comment paper by Sunday and I've barely started. It's minimum 800 words but I have such a hard time with it. This is my second one so hopefully it's better.
I slacked off my whole reading week back in VANCOUVER with the Olympics. Can I get a "woot woot"?! I was so happy to see my city, yes my city, in the spotlight. In fact, I was getting a little possessive, sharing my city with the massive crowds. Despite the technical difficulties experienced at the opening ceremonies, all my other experiences were extremely positive. The main downside were all the lineups, but those were inevitable. I got to spend time with so many of my friends and met some new ones as well. People came together to sing O Canada on the Canada Line and in the streets. The country feels unified, and Canadians are finally showing some patriotism, even if it only for the duration of these few weeks.

I'm back to life as usual. I'm getting really sick and tired of school. I've completely lost my motivation. I need a boost. D, where are you?

I've made it a goal to cook at home more and create some interesting dishes. I said in December that I was going to try to recreate dishes from the New York Times Minimalist section. I did make one, the pasta with chicken and mushroom, risotto style. However, I didn't have my camera to take a picture of what I made. It was super easy though, and the risotto style cooking resulted in a chewier pasta (I used gemelli, which is like a denser fusilli but smaller than rotini). The pasta was also infused with the flavour of the chicken stock and wine. I should make it again so I can snap a photo.
Recently, I've had a few delicious creations as well. I seared some halibut and topped with a pine nut-walnut butter sauce. John and I made orzo as well. Lucy thought it was RICE! haha. Unfortunately, no picture of that creation.
This here is the fried rice I made with the same pine nut-walnut mix, mixed with Lucy's preserved veggie thing and topped with some garlic buttered kale. It was a delicious meal as we watched Up in the Air.
I'm a bit of a pasta fanatic. This is a pasta primavera of sorts, minus the carrots and bell peppers, so I guess it's not so primavera. I used cavatappi pasta, which I also used when I made my pesto sauce over the summer. Here, I just mixed some mushrooms, zucchini, leftover kale, and tomatoes with a bit of garlic butter and topped off with a bit of Parmesan. Yum. No complaints from Lucy!
I LOVE SOBA. John asked me if I could eat any type of food everyday, what cuisine would it be from. I told him, Japanese food. It's healthy and yummy. What more could a girl want?! This is my lunch. Just some buckwheat soba noodles mixed with edamame and carrots. There's also pieces of chicken in this but I guess they're shy and hiding under the noodles. The broth was simple. Ok I cheated. I had a broth mix that my mom brought for me from Taiwan. I'm trying to think of ways to change this noodle combo up. I used to make soba with miso, but got a little tired of that. I wish I had some ebi tempura to top this off!!
I have more food pictures but I'll save those for another post. There'll be more pasta and a certain red wine chicken that I'm bound to make again sometime this week because Lucy actually called it an "orgasm in her mouth". LMAO.
Bon appetit!
P.S. I'm so happy Meryl Streep was nominated for and Oscar for her role in Julie and Julia. She was SO GOOD in it!

should I stay or should I go?
Winter has finally hit. It was inhumanely cold over the weekend and it's supposed to continue for the next few days. I'm glad I'd be able to escape a bit of the bitter winter in two weeks when I head home for the Olympics!
I was in Toronto again this past weekend to relax and unwind a bit. I left with the feeling that I didn't really accomplish what I wanted to though. My main reason for going to Toronto was to watch Carmen, the opera by Bizet. The plan was to get rush tickets at 11am of the showing, so I arrive at the Four Seasons Centre about a quarter after 11. Unfortunately, they didn't have any more $20 tickets left...only $160 tickets in Ring 2. If I had wanted to buy expensive tickets, I would've bought them beforehand! I woke up "early" (we stayed out late the night prior) and walked in the bitter cold to get unattainable tickets. On the bright side, the morning walk in the cold really woke me up, and the sunshine was really pleasant as well. It gave me a nice chance to reflect and think like I often did in the fall term when I frequented walks along University Avenue.
On the other hand, I was productive in meeting up with people. I lunched with my old boss and coworker on Friday and had a great time catching up with them. Then, after some work, I met up with K for a chat and a browse-through of Winners. We still have a lot to talk about and it's great that we're able to be friends.
I had my fair share of eating out this weekend too. Winterlicious at Midi Bistro, which faired about 3 out of 5 for food and 4 out of 5 for atmosphere. Late night, sobering up McDonald's is the way to go! A delicious breakfast at 1pm accompanied by the hot waiter at Eggsmart the next day = top notch. Then a meal of ribs at Baton Rouge with D was pretty pleasant, but I'd rather fatty ribs. Next morning, sleep-deprived and hungry, went to Liberty Village for some brunch. It's a good thing I didn't go shopping, because I spent all my money on food! I'm heading back for Winterlicious at Tundra Friday...and the meal there is a little pricier as well.
I guess right now, I'm pretty happy with my life. School hasn't been too exciting, but I'm muddling through. The only thing on my mind right now should be studying for my test tomorrow...but I don't even feel stressed about it.
I just want to clarify things with D before I invest too much feeling.
Anyway, happy February everyone. It's going to be a short month. I can't wait for the summer...I really want warmer temperatures!

I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul.
I watched Invictus this weekend, starring Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon (L). The title of the movie is the poem that got Nelson Mandela through his 27 years in prison, by William Ernest Henley. I recall reading that poem in Grade 8 in my first ever high school social studies class. At 13 years old, I had no clue what the poem meant. Now older and wiser with some poetry training, I now understand that the this poem, kept Mandela's will strong, and to reunite his country after such hard times. I'm probably romanticizing the Apartheid issue as I'm not too familiar with the details. The movie however, told an important story represented through Mandela's political and human strategy of rugby to reunite the country. It is films like these, one that tells a story, one with a purpose, one with conviction, that I truly enjoy. The following is another poem by William Ernest Henley of an entirely different mood from Invictus.
Between the dusk of a summer night
Between the dusk of a summer night
And the dawn of a summer day,
We caught at a mood as it passed in flight,
And we bade it stoop and stay.
And what with the dawn of night began
With the dusk of day was done;
For that is the way of woman and man,
When a hazard has made them one.
Arc upon arc, from shade to shine
The World went thundering free;
And what was his errand but hers and mine --
The lords of him, I and she?
O, it's die we must, but it's live we can,
And the marvel of earth and sun
Is all for the joy of woman and man
And the longing that makes them one.
--William Ernest Henley

j'espere tout va bien
I had a pretty good weekend. But why does my heart have a sinking feeling? I'm confused as ever. I returned to Waterloo to find a postcard from E, and it was then that I realized that I got myself involved with too much last year. I know I should be change and just focus on myself this year, but something inside me can't stop.

Friday Favourites No.2
Today is Friday, and I'm sitting in a busy Starbucks at the corner of Adelaide and York. Gosh I how I miss this area! I don't think I'll ever tire of the tall buildings covered in glass and stone or tire of being surrounded by men in suits (teehee). I couldn't help but escape to Toronto my first weekend back at school. I remember back in first year that most people went home for the first weekend and that made me quite depressed. I suppose I've accepted Toronto as a third home (Vancouver being the first, and Taipei being the second). It's nice to be able to see some of my good high school friends who have ventured out here with me in Toronto. I also find that I'm able to meet a lot more new people in Toronto as opposed to Waterloo. I'm supposed to be working on my Work Term Report, but I decided blogging is more appealing. So here are my list of favourites for the day, and one un-favourite.
1. Marc by Marc Jacobs New Q Long Wallet
Julia, you're a doll for getting me this wallet for Christmas. The one I used was a nice wallet from my mom but it wasn't very stylish. I absolutely love it!
2. Learning
I was really dreading my time back at school. Now that I've went to all my courses this first week back, I'm actually quite excited to be learning again. It feels like some of my courses won't be too challenging with the exception of Environmental Law, which also happens to be at 8:30 in the morning twice a week. I'm quite ready to face another challenge. A school term isn't complete without a challenging course right?
3. New roommates that don't suck
I've had my fair share of random roommates, and my experience has been less than mediocre. However, the two other girls Lucy and I are living with are really nice, and also quite neat. Living with nice roommates makes all the difference! Still, I can't wait to be out on my own with my own place (with a nice kitchen) so I can cook and do what the heck I want. I could walk around naked if I wanted to.
4. UN-FAVOURITE: WORK TERM REPORT
I know I complain about this every term. But honestly, I don't learn anything from doing these reports. What starts off as an interesting topic slowly becomes a nuisance, especially in the first week back at school. Formatting and all the unnecessary requirements of this paper is not worth my time at all. I'm almost done though. Just have to finish my case study and do my conclusion and recommendations and all that extra junk.
I suppose I shall get back to my pertinent task. Have a great weekend everyone, and stay warm! (With the exception of somebody who happens to be in balmy Singapore)
edit: I'm done my report! I'm so happy that I got it done 3 days before the due date that I have to announce it here.
